Volunteers wanted! Your commitment to the FISU Games will pay off!

More and more universities are recognising the value of volunteering at the FISU World University Games - not only for the event, but also for students like you! So why not combine your studies with the experience of an international multi-sport event?

Prof. Dr. Gereon Berschin from the University of Passau in Bavaria puts it in a nutshell:

“Volunteers not only gain unforgettable experiences, but also acquire skills that are worth their weight in gold in many sports science degree programmes.”

This idea has started a real movement, with more and more universities now integrating volunteer activities at the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU Games into their curricula.

Two cool examples:

At the Ruhr University Bochum, your commitment as a volunteer is directly rewarded with 2 credit points - and there are plans for further formats that could even earn up to 10 CP.

And at TU Dortmund, students can complete their 60-hour professional field internship as part of the FISU Games next summer. Jackpot!

And the best thing: there is huge interest not only from within Germany but also internationally. Renowned universities such as SUNY Cortland University and the University of Louisville in the United States, Sheffield Hallam University (UK) and the University Volunteer Academy of Costa Rica send their students to Germany to volunteer, gain experience and make international contacts.

So that means by volunteering yourself, the door is opened to new friendships with like-minded people from all over the world!
